Season 5, Episode 13

First of all, I apologize for this inconvenience. I do not have time this week to write my own interpretation of the episode. However, I have found a very good synopsis on IMDB.

Thank you "NickChor" for writing a summary on "The Dentist in the Ditch"!

--> A Civil War reenactment is underway when one unfortunate Confederate discovers a skeleton buried in the dirt. "That's one of them Yankees that we killed!" the solider says. Back at the Jeffersonian, Booth welcomes Jared back home. Turns out lil' bro has fallen in love while traveling. Before the FBI guy has a chance to react, he gets a call: time to get to the murder scene. Moments later, Booth and Bones investigate the skeleton, which the latter identifies as a modern man -- no Civil War soldier here. The bones, which are almost completely encased in a block of clay, suddenly begin to emit spiders! Hodgins notes that this particular species is not native to where the body was found. Hmm.

Booth, in the meantime, meets his little bro's new girlfriend, Padme. The two appear to be very much in love, but Booth is suspicious. Back at the lab, Bones notices "occupational markers" consistent with various careers, including dentistry. Vincent then commences cleaning the clay from the skeleton. B&B then head to the home of the victim, where they find Lucas, a contractor living over the garage, watching football. He is SHOCKED to discover that his employer is dead. "Why would I kill Danny?" Lucas asks. "He owes me $3,000." The man then explains that the victim had a terrible breakup with his ex, Christopher. B&B then head to Christopher's house. He explains that as soon as Danny's practice took off, the dentist dumped him. Bones then notices an arrowhead in a nearby tree. "I'm gay and I hunt -- get over it," Christopher says.

Back at the lab, Vincent dismisses the possibility of an arrow killing the victim, saying a wound on the victim's sternum just isn't deep enough. "It could very easily have been post mortem," the intern theorizes. Vincent then has a brainstorm: rhubarb! Turns out the properties of the plant contain an acid that can more quickly dissolve the clay. Booth, in the meantime, brings in the victim's dental hygienist, Grace, for questioning. The woman filed a complaint against her employer for giving her Hepatitis C. "Dan nicked me during a procedure," says the woman, who is obviously lying. Grace then admits to cheating on her husband and blaming the victim as an excuse.

The rhubarb, meanwhile, has done its job. "He was still active in sport," Vincent says. The injuries are consistent with a football. So B&B do a little research and discover that Danny played for a local team. Coach Hendler is SHOCKED to discover the player has been murdered. When Bones suggests that the man might have been killed because he was gay, the coach laughs. Turns out the ENTIRE team is comprised of gay men. Bones then finds blood inside Dan's football helmet -- and the location is consistent with marks on the skeleton. Was he hit just a little too hard at practice? The players say "no."

Back at the lab, Booth runs a background check on Padme and discovers that she used to be escort. Big bro wonders if little bro knows -- and whether it would affect his plans to marry the young lady. Camille, in the meantime, discovers more blood on a towel taken from the practice field. The towel belonged to Dan, but the blood belongs to Cyd, an opposing player. Turns out Dan recently forced Cyd to fumble, thus costing the latter to fumble. The two then had a post-game fistfight. Another suspect, to be sure.

Later, Booth tells Jared that his girl was arrested for prostitution four years prior. Jared if FURIOUS. "Go to hell!" he yells. Cyd is then brought in for questioning. The tough guy admits to calling the victim a "fag," but denies killing him. It doesn't take long for Booth to get Cyd to admit that he is gay, too. The two used to date, but secretly. "The only time I was happy was with Danny," Cyd says. "I don't expect you to understand." Back at the lab, Vincent discovers three fractures on the skull. "His forehead exploded from the inside out," the intern says. Turns out the victim has killed and buried in the dirt, where seeds worked their way into his skull. The seeds then sprouted, causing the forehead to burst outward. "So head trauma was not cause of death," says a disappointed Bones. "We have no cause of death."

Montage time! Bones examines the now bleached skeleton, measuring, staring through a microscope and consistently furrowing her brow. It's all worth it, though. When the montage ends, Bones announces that she has found a small, previously unexamined nick on a particular bone. Vincent takes a look and concludes that it is consistent with a dental saw. Hodgins' then notes that the spiders could have come from the same part of Virginia where dental-hygienist Grace makes her home. "That should be enough for an arrest," Camille notes. So B&B hop in the car and head out to confront the lady.

On the way, they discuss Jared and Padme. Bones notes that Booth has long said that "love conquers all" -- so why is the FBI agent so consumed with the past of little brother's GF? Booth mulls it over. B&B then arrive at Grace's home, which has a fairly new driveway -- one that closely resembles the victim's own. Grace explains that she used the same contractor, Lucas. Back at the lab, Vincent examines Lucas's paving tool -- and discovers the victim's blood. Uh oh. Before you can say "guilty," Lucas is brought in to sit in the hot seat. He admits to arguing with Daniel over a job. "Dan knocked me down and started kicking me, so I grabbed the scraper and swung it at him to get him off of me," Lucas explains. So it was self defense. The only problem is that the contractor, who had been stealing from the victim, then dumped the body in a ditch. Case closed.

But not the episode. B&B convene to a bar, where they meet Jared and Padme. "Whatever you want to say, you can say to both of us," little brother says. Padme explains that she told Jared about her past -- and that the two will soon be getting married. Jared then asks Booth to be his best man. So love conquers all, after all. Bones offers a toast to love. Everyone clinks glasses and sips. A happy ending. <--

Celebrating 100 Episodes of Bones

Wow, what an incredible week! Yesterday (Wednesday), the Bones crew and fans celebrated one of the most amazing feats in television history: Bones made it to 100 epsiodes! FOX will also be airing a brand new episode tomorrow (Thursday) at 8/7 central! Fans know that Bones will live long and forever, and will not become "just a nostalgic act."

As Emily mentioned in her speech, Bones will reach its tenth season, and there's no doubt about that in our minds. We look forward to celebrating episode #200. Thank you so much for all the "blood, sweat, and tears" to the entire Bones crew and cast, as well as the die-hard fans who have made this moment, not only possible, but a dream come true.

Thank you @BoothLovesMe for the link, and ZAP2IT for the article and video!

Few television shows have the fine distinction of making it to 100 episodes, but even fewer have the pleasure of enjoying a rabid fan base such as the one "Bones"attracts.

Because of your great enthusiasm, Korbi TV decided we'd bring you along to this week's 100th episode celebration... in spirit, anyway.
And via our C-Spanesque video footage of the speeches.

In the clip below, you'll see a bit of creator Hart Hanson's toast, as well as David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel's kind words to the crew, to their families and to each other.

It gets a little deep, people.

And we will be resolving that in the second half of the year." Could "resolving" mean wedding bells or a break up?

Season 5, Episode 12

"The Proof in the Pudding" begins with a cute banter between Bones and Booth. Booth claims to see a pattern in the pizza, whereas Bones does not. Bones mentions that seeing random patterns that clearly do not exist is a sign of schizophrenia. Booth claims to see Michael Jackson in the pizza slices. Surprisingly, Tempe is unfamiliar with the famous celebrity's name. Booth proceeds to dance and moonwalk his way out of Tempe's office. Who knew Booth could dance like that? He imitates MJ's moves so well! How sexy is that?!?!

Cam rushes into Bones' office with a used pregnancy test (which shows a plus sign that equates 'positive'), and asks Bones if the pregnancy stick belongs to her. Bones responds by stating that she hasn't had "sexual intercourse" in quite some time. Cam, worried sick to her stomach that the pregnancy test might possibly belong to Michelle (her adopted daughter), frantically tries to remember who else used the girls' restroom. Bones consoles Cam by stating that Angela is currently sexually active with Wendell. Cam eventually remembers that the only females who have used the restroom that day besides her were Angela, Michelle, and Tempe.

Cam rushes over to Angela, and immediately asks her, "Is this your home pregnancy test?", while holding up the used pregnancy stick. Angela denies it; however, viewers eventually find out the reasoning behind her cover up. Hodgins was in the room. Cam had no idea that Hodgins was in the room with Angela. Cam, embarassed, rushes out of the room, while Angela continues with her cover-up story. Angela asks Hodgins, "What makes Cam crazy?", and Hodgins replies, "Michelle?" Angela nods. Hodgins acknowledges her nod, "Ooh, 16!""

Meanwhile, as Cam walks back into the main laboratory, Sweets points at a few men dressed in black suits and says, "Cam, these guys won't let me leave!" Cam, understandibly confused, asks "What's going on?" The leader of the pack named, Mr. White, walks in and locks the forensic gang up. He vehemently states that he is following the government's orders. Mr. White orders the forensic gang of the Jeffersonian institute to figure out the "cause of death" of the individual.

Sweets secretly gives Booth a call, and quietly tells Booth about the lockdown. Booth responds, "Whoa, slow down, Sweets. What government guys?" Sweets is concerned as to why he is locked up, because he is only an FBI psychologist.

Mr. White uncovers the body, and states that the body should remain undamaged. He also says, "Identification of the body is priority zero." When was the last time our forensic gang figured out the cause of death without identifying the body beforehand? Later, Cam desperately suggests Bones to "guess" the cause of death, instead of going through the usual procedure. Cam is clearly unable to concentrate on her given duty because she believes that Michelle is pregnant at only age 16.

As Booth walks to the parking lot to drive back to the Jeffersonian Institute, he finds himself trapped by Mr. White's partners. As Mr. White approaches Booth, Booth is straightforward with Mr. White from the beginning. "Why'd you lock up my people?", says Booth. "They're not your people," replies Mr. White. Booth suggests that Mr. White intentionally timed this situation so that Special Agent Seeley Booth wouldn't be locked up simultaneously with his squints.

After Booth walks away from the bad guys, Booth gives Sweets a call, and Sweets puts his cell phone on speaker so that Angela and Hodgins can listen to the conversation and speak to Booth, simultaneously. Booth suggests that Mr. White and his gang think they are "untouchable."

Meanwhile, back in the laboratory, Bones and Cam are the only people currently examining the skeleton. The two of them discover that the dead individual had multiple corrective surgeries. In need of additional services, Cam yells, "HODGINS!!!", and startles one of Mr. White's men. Hodgins enters the main laboratory, and asks Cam, "Was that you? I didn't know you could yell like that. I find that so hot!" Cam, still unable to provide undivided attention to this mysterious case, says, "I'm too young to be a grandmother."

Tempe secretly slips a bone fragment into her lab coat, even though she is not allowed to remove any of the bone fragments. Sweets, on the other hand, is on the phone with Booth once again, and informs Booth about the psychological observations that he has made while basically being held hostage. Booth and Sweets both are not aware of the fact that Mr. White has access to anything that Booth, Sweets, or the others go over during phone calls.

Hodgins informs Bones and Cam about additional observations that he has made. He repeatedly emphasizes the year, "1963" and mentions that has matched the degenerative diseases and disorders found on the body, to Mr. President, JFK. That's right. John F. Kennedy, himself. Both Bones and Cam, as naive as they are at this very moment, believe Hodgins' theory. All three friends are shocked at the possibility that they could be examining JFK's remains.

While Hodgins, Cam, and Tempe are discussing the history behind the skeletal remains, Booth fights for someone's attention at the entrance. When he goes unnoticed, he shoots down the door, on impulse. Mr. White's men attack Booth, thinking that Booth is an intruder. Mr. White lets out a big sigh, after he walks into the room to see that the man who shot down the door was Booth. Mr. White and his gang have now limited Booth to confined quarters.

Angela walks into Cam's office and comes clean about her pregnancy test. Angela admits to Cam that the pregnancy stick belonged to her, and not to Michelle. Angela strongly believes that she shouldn't have the baby because "Wendell is not the right guy." Angela knows that Wendell should be the first to know; however, Cam is actually the first person to know about Angela's situation. Surprisingly, Angela tells Hodgins about her situation second before she tells Wendell. Hodgins, almost speechless, unconvincingly congratulates Angela and Wendell on the baby.

After looking at Angela's facial reconstruction of the skull, Booth exclaims, "That is NOT JFK!" Booth strongly believes that there is no way that the truth behind JFK's assassination was covered up. Hodgins begs to differ. He sure is a conspiracy theorist, isn't he?

Later, Hodgins acts like he's mopping the floor, so that Booth and Sweets could step downstairs into the basement to find an exact replica of a rifle that killed JFK. Then, Booth asks Bones and Cam to babble at Mr. White. As expected, Mr. White clearly cannot comprehend Tempe's scientific language. Tempe convinces Mr. White that Booth will shoot two canteloupes with Mr. White's handgun. During the experiment, Booth quickly sets down the handgun, and proceeds to shoot both of the canteloupes with "Oswalt's rifle." Mr. White and his gang are clearly disappointed that our forensic gang, flat out, lied to him and his gang.

Bones discovers that there were two gunmen, and not just one. When Bones mentions Booth's infamous ancestor, John Wilkes Booth, Booth gets angry and storms out of the room. Back in the laboratory, Hodgins steps into Angela's room and proclaims, "I'm your guy! I love you! I love you! I'll do whatever you want. We can get married...we can move in together. Whatever you need, I'm here for you." Angela is visibly stunned by Hodgin's proclamation.

While examining the bones one more time, Cam and Bones inform Sweets that Booth has shot approximately 50 people. Cam informs both Bones and Sweets that Booth is a very patriotic man. Booth is upset because the government has "lied to him" all along.

Cam re-tests the pregnancy stick when she still believed it to belong to Michelle, and finds out that the test result was a "false positive." Cam also informed Angela of this "good" news. As Mr. White walks in, Booth tackles Mr. White and handcuffs him to the railing. Mr. White's partners run downstairs to assist Mr. White; however, they end up getting tackled as well. Booth manages to tackle all three of the bad guys, and handcuffs each of them, accordingly.

Booth approaches Bones just in time to see her place two arm bones into two sets of pudding. One of the bones sinks and the other one floats. The arm bone that has floated is infected with "osteomyelitis." Bones informs Booth that JFK never had this disease. Booth embraces Bones and thanks her for her dedication to this mysterious case. Booth acknowledges the fact that Bones figured out whom the remains belonged to, because she wanted to see Booth happy.

At the end of the show, Hodgins+Angela and Booth+Bones walk away arm-in-arm, respectively. Was this a coincidence? Fans don't believe so.

100th Episode

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

We're all anticipating the 100th episode of Bones to be the best one yet. Who's excited to see Zack Addy (portrayed by Eric Millegan) back on the show? Did you hear that Cam (portrayed by Tamara Taylor) will be playing the role of a New York Coroner (her previous occupation) in the 100th episode?

THE 100TH EPISODE WILL AIR APRIL 8TH, 2010:
"THE PARTS IN THE SUM OF THE WHOLE"

Thank you BUDDY TV!

--> According to Bones creator Hart Hanson, the 100th installment, which is set to air this spring, stems from Sweet's (John Francis Daley) book, which is about to come out. Hanson says, "Booth and Brennan have read it, and they tell him, 'There's only one problem with what you say. You're operating under a huge misapprehension and we have to tell you about our first case together.'"

The show will then rewind to six years earlier, which is about a year before the show began in 2005. At this time, we learn that Booth is stuck with one particular case he can't resolve so he tracks down Brennan for help. And not surprisingly, Booth and Brennan don't hit it off from their first meeting. "They didn't like each other very much," says Hanson.

"I'm excited to find out what made Booth and Brennan hate each other," adds Emily Deschanel (Brennan). "It had to be something big."

But that's not the only thing to look forward to in Bones' 100th episode. Fans can also expect to see Eric Milligan as Zack Addy. Tamara Taylor, on the other hand, will find her character Cam in her pre-Jeffersonian Institute job as a New York coroner. <--

Thank you ZAP2IT!

--> Get ready to take a trip back with the 100th episode of "Bones."

The David Boreanaz-directed milestone episode will air Thursday, April 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and will delve into the main characters' history and their curious dynamic.

"The Parts in the Sum of the Whole" centers on the first time Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (Boreanaz) work a case together. Viewers will also get to see how the rest of the Jeffersonian crew began their relationships with each other.

"I'm so proud to stand by each and every cast and crew member on this momentous achievement of our 100th episode," said Boreanaz. "All the blood, sweat and tears has brought us to this moment. With each step we became a family, and with each step further I take on directing this episode as a friend. To 100! Salute!" <--

Season 5, Episode 11

"The X in the File" begins in Roswell, New Mexico with an alien hunter, named "Marvin," walking through the woods to find some evidence of extraterrestrial life. While Marvin is walking through the woods, he is also speaking to his wife on his cell phone. It is clearly evident that he is lying to his wife about "sitting in his hotel room." As he moves deeper into the woods, he finds a body, and exclaims out loud, "I found one!" When his wife asks Marvin what he found, he lies to her, "Oh, honey, I found a pen." He sees multiple sets of orange eyes in the darkness. Then, he proceeds to gasp, scream, and run away. Just by the looks and sounds of this opening scene, the television audience can make a reasonable assumption that this man is a chronic liar.

The always adorable, lovable duo comprised of a splendid forensic anthropologist, Bones, and a charming FBI agent, Booth, arrive at the scene of the murder. This duo will temporarily be a trio, because Sheriff Bonds will accompany them. What a mouthful. I guess we can refer to this trio as "Triple B" for now. Bones routinely measures the demographics of the dead body: "Judging by the frame and stature, it appears to be a female, approximately 30 years old, and shows no evidence of extraterrestrial life." Booth jokingly asks Bones, "She's not an alien?" Not surprisingly, Bones replies, "There's no such thing as an 'alien.' "

She jabbers on with scientific jargon that Booth surely isn't able to comprehend. Booth is probably thinking, "English, please?" When the theme song for the hit show, "The X-Files" goes off, there is an eery mood; however, the mood is broken when Bones finds a cellphone of which the ringtone belongs to. Bones exclaims, "It's a cell phone!" with a confused look on her face. The camera, now angled towards Booth, shows him crossing his arms, pointing his body towards his lovely partner, Bones to fiercely say, "Oh, you wish!" In this scene, Booth's body language is incredibly sexy, might I add. ;)

On a side note, fans are aware of the fact that Booth loves Bones, as more than a friend and a "crime investigative partner." No matter how much scientific jargon Bones may speak of, Booth continues to teach her to be more of a social person, rather than an individual who bases her facts solely off of physical evidence. Booth has assisted Bones in finding the balance between her occupation and her social skills.

Meanwhile, moving back to the episode: surprise, surpise. Guess who Dr. Temperance Brennan's graduate student/assistant is for the week? You guessed it! Wendell! Working alone together in the laboratory with his new significant other, Angela...scratch that. Rewind! Did I say, "working"?! I meant to say, Angela and Wendell are flirting heavily with each other when they are supposed to be working.

As the head boss, Cam, walks in, Wendell and Angela are startled. When Wendell tries to cover up, Cam bluntly says, "You think you have a secret? Think again." Angela is clearly stunned, facing Wendell: "I thought we were being subtle." Wendell replies, "I thought so too." Wendell is clearly bothered that his friend, the bugs and slime guy, Hodgins, doesn't know about his and Angela's relationship. Thereafter, Wendell cautiously approaches Hodgins, wary that his friendship with Hodgins might come to an end. Hodgins tells Wendell that he has no problem with Wendell and Angela dating; in all honestly, deep down inside, Hodgins does have a problem. A rather, big one. Not aware of this emotion yet, Hodgins invites Wendell and Angela out to lunch to prove that "everything is okay" among the three of friends.

At lunch, the three of them are uncomfortable; thankfully, the psychologist, Sweets, steps in to say, "This is a big problem. This is.... a fraud. We must complete this investigation." Sweets faceitiously pretends to be talking about the crime scene investigation, rather than about the uncomfortable lunch meeting he had just witnessed. Later in the episode, Hodgins runs into Sweets' office exclaiming, "You were right, Sweets. This is a big problem."

Sweets comforts Hodgins by stating that Hodgins is remembering what he had in the past with Angela. Thinking about a past loved one is normal. Sweets questions Hodgins, "Dr. Hodgins, do you still have feelings for Angela?" Sweets is met with no answer. For the first time since Hodgins and Angela ended their relationship, a pair NOT by the name of "Booth" and "Bones" took the spotlight. In this episode, I believe Wendell and Angela's relationship overshadows this week's crime scene investigation and B+B's relationship.

Back in the Jefforsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., both Bones and Booth have no idea that the machine they had placed the body on is magnetic. As the dead body, now identified as "Ursula," rattles upwards, and "Bones" screams. As Booth points his gun towards the body, the gun jets itself out of Booth's hands, and rams itself into the machine (which was caused by magnetic forces). Booth and Bones are visibly startled.

Later, a ranch owner named, Marsha, leads B+B to the owner of a diner, Blaine Miller. Booth and Bones visit Blaine Miller at the diner, and ask him if he knows who the woman is in the picture that Booth is holding up. Blaine replies, "Sure. That's Ursula. Was she the murder victim? She used to come by here all the time!" Later, our temporary trio confronts a girl named, Delmy. After the confrontation, she surrenders a few photos that she retrieved by breaking into a trailer. Surprisingly, Marvin, the alien hunter from the opening scene, and Ursula, the dead victim, are shown kissing in the photos that Delmy had surrendered. As soon as Marvin and Booth meet again, Booth interrogates Marvin: "How long have you two been lovers?" Marvin replies, "I didn't kill her, I swear!" Booth, always skeptical of his suspects did not believe Marvin.

Back in Washington, D.C., Angela shows her forensic gang a couple videos that Ursula had shot herself. The video shows a few individuals illegally dumping toxic waste on Mexican land. Booth and Brennan waste no time in immediately driving down to Mexico to interrogate the supposed leader of this illegal act, Rachel Adams. Thereafter, this interrogation ends up being a big mistake. Rachel is definitely not the murderer.

So the potential suspects are Marvin, Delmy, and Rachel Adams. Who are we missing? Blaine Miller, that's who! Blaine Miller killed Ursula. Blaine shot silver balls from a red and yellow toy gun at Ursula. It turns out Blaine overheard Rachel Adams offering a payroll to Ursula. Thereafter, Blaine is immediately handcuffed and sent to jail. For the record, how many fans predicted Blaine to be the murderer? Raise your hands!

At the end of the episode, Angela tries to convince Wendell, "You know it's over between me and Hodgins, right?" Wendell replies, "Things are not always as they seem." That boy is smart. I guess he understands why Hodgins blew off his head, but not Angela nor Cam's heads. Wondering what I mean by this? Watch the episode, and you'll find out! You'll love this one.
